How to host a great night

Put it on the big screen. Cast your phone or laptop to the TV (AirPlay, Chromecast, Smart View), or plug in an HDMI cable. A laptop with HDMI is the most reliable.
Sound beats video. Connect a speaker or soundbar. A Bluetooth karaoke mic turns it into a real night.
Add everyone's names first. Then just tap a name to queue their song. The queue keeps the order, so nobody fights over whose turn it is.
Skip YouTube's fullscreen button. Use the Fullscreen button at the top of Pitch Please instead. YouTube's own fullscreen hides the up-next banners, the dares and the scores.
Add songs mid-song with "+ Add song". The video keeps playing. If you're mirroring your screen, everyone sees the panel for a few seconds. That's fine.
Keep the screen awake. If the page refreshes anyway, the queue and scores come back.
End with Night Awards. Tap "Night Awards" at the top when you're done. Someone will be humbled.

The short version

Pitch Please is a party game for laughs. Scores are random and the roasts are jokes, not a real judgment of anyone's voice.
We don't have accounts. What you type stays in your own browser. We only count visits, anonymously.
Songs play through YouTube's official embedded player. We don't host, copy or sell any music.
Pitch Please is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube, Google, or any artist, songwriter or record label.

Privacy policy

What we store. The names and songs you add, scores, your language setting and your songbook settings are saved only in your own browser (local storage) so the night survives a page refresh. They are not sent to us or to any server we run. You can clear them anytime with "New night (clear all)" in Night Awards, or by clearing your browser's site data.

YouTube API Services. Pitch Please uses YouTube API Services to play karaoke videos through the YouTube embedded player. When a video plays, YouTube and Google may collect information, use cookies or similar technology on your device, and show ads, under their own policies. By using Pitch Please you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. See the Google Privacy Policy for how Google handles data.

Songbook builder. If the host uses the songbook builder with their own YouTube Data API key, the key and the search results are stored only in that host's browser and sent only to YouTube to run the searches.

Microphone (Desperation Meter). If the host turns on the Desperation Meter, the browser asks for microphone access. Pitch Please only measures how loud the room is, live, on the host's device. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent anywhere, and the mic turns off when the meter is switched off or the page is closed.

Custom event packs. Private party links (clarissavillanueva.com/p/...) include names and fun facts provided by the event organizer, who confirms that everyone named is okay with being roasted. Only first names or nicknames are used, and each pack is removed 7 days after the event. To have something removed sooner, email hello@clarissavillanueva.com.

Visit counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they open. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't track you across sites, and doesn't identify individual visitors. It never sees the names or songs you type. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Fonts. The page loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers when the page opens.

Ads. Pitch Please does not show ads or affiliate links today. If that changes, this policy will be updated first to explain which third parties are involved and what they collect.

Tips. The "Buy the roaster a coffee" link opens a third-party payment page. Pitch Please never sees your payment details.

Children. Pitch Please isn't directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone.

Terms of use

For entertainment only. Scores are generated at random and roasts are pre-written jokes. They're not a measure of anyone's talent, and they're not personal.
Music and videos. All songs, lyrics and videos belong to their respective owners and are played through YouTube's embedded player as provided by the uploader. Pitch Please doesn't host, download, modify or redistribute them.
Rights holders. If you own a song or video in the songbook and want it removed, email hello@clarissavillanueva.com (hello@clarissavillanueva.com) and it will be taken out.
What you type. You're responsible for the names and song titles you enter. Please keep it friendly.
No guarantees. Pitch Please is provided as is, without warranties. Videos can stop playing if their owners change their settings, and the site may change or go offline at any time.
Tips. Tips are voluntary and unlock nothing extra. Thank you, though.
Liability. To the extent the law allows, Pitch Please and its creator aren't liable for any damage arising from using the site, including bruised egos.
